Fred Esplin shares about his interest in the humanities, beginning in his early years growing up in Cedar City, Utah. He was involved in the beginning years of Cedar City's Shakespearean Festival. He worked as the manager of KUED Channel 7 (PBS) in Salt Lake City and as Vice President for Advancement for University of Utah. He served on the board of Utah Humanities Council from 1990-1996, including as board chair. During his Council board tenure, he was involved in Zion Canyon Mesa (writers and artist retreat). Esplin talks about his experiences in the humanities, as well as on the Council, and how he views and values the humanities in life. |
