Apache fly swatter assembled from a bundle of horse hair bound with peyote stitch beadwork; at the top, a thick loop of the hair is gathered to form a loop; turquoise beads are worked over this section and anchored with stitching at the top of the straight cynlindrical handle. peyote stitch over the straight bundle of hair has turquoise beading as well, with a spiral design in yellow. The horse hair extends well beyond the end of the beading to form a long open fringe. Some of the beading thread; is entangled in the horse hair fringe.. Width 2.5, Length 29 Centimeters |
