A 19-year-old man in good general health except for a history of a C2/odontoid fracture from an MVA in 12/01 presented with a 3-month history of bizarre behavior, dizziness and "black-out" spells. CT scanning and MR imaging revealed multiple enhancing lesions in both the brain and spinal cord. A cisternal tap under fluoroscopy revealed abnormal cells with melanin granules. A diagnosis of leptomeningeal melanomatosis was made. |
