Description |
Millions of Americans are living with Alzheimer's dementia. While choosing to age at home, family caregivers are playing an important role in the caregiving process. This project identifies gaps in current interventions created to train and assist both the caregiver and the care receiver in the caregiving process. This paper documents the development of a four-session course focusing on one of the gaps- self-care training. By using social cognitive theory as a model, adult participants create attainable goals and set healthy habits pertaining to positivity, physical activity, and social engagement to care for themselves as they go about their caregiving journey. |
