This paper is a description of a computer system that analyzes sequences of angiographic images of the left ventricle of the heart. The result of this analysis is a statistical description of the dynamic geometry of the left ventricular wall. The system consists of a fluoroscope, a stop-action video disk, a video digitizer, a T.V. monitor, a remote computer terminal and a CDC 3300 computer. The resulting statistical descriptions of the left ventricle should provide physicians with quantitative information that will be of significant value in evaluating their patient's heart function. |
