Duntrun November 17th 1863 Mr John Esplin Dear Brother, I must apologize that I have been again so longue of answering you. We were truly happy to hear that you were well and had got a wife and family and prospering boath in your business and in your store, but… I was truly very sorrow reading the comments of your letter. I was not a little stricken with the tenor of it. I am truly very sorrow when surrounded as you seem to … with so many good privldges that you seem to mean that we are disposessed of that. You are not endowed with a little charity since I explained to you before regarding the pounds that your father left and that the power of attorney you sent me was of no use on account of your brother William being missing. And now there canot be anything done with the property before your brother George's son comes of age. You can see that I have maid Thomas Webster to make out a statement regarding the pounds. You will see at a glanse what falls to your share which you could have had longue ago barring your silence. By stating in your message the way of convanounce you can have it sent you without delay. Sin this leaves us all well, thank God, at the present time hoping through his blessing that this will find you and yours in the enjoyment of the same blessing. Your brother David… is located in Broughty Ferry. Has taken up a grosary business and is doing very well. Sin you must escuse me at present, I am not in a mood to make a longer letter.
