Conquest of the land through seven thousand years

The personal report of a study Dr. Lowdermilk made in 1938 and 1939 of the record of agriculture in countries where the land had been under cultivation for hundreds and thousands of years. The study was done to see if the experience of the older countries could help solve the problems of soil erosion and land use problems in the United States, that was then struggling with repair of the Dust Bowl and the Sullied South.
