Transcript (11 pages) of an interview conducted by Justin Sorensen at the J. Willard Marriott Library, University of Utah in Salt Lake City on August 23, 2019. Dr. Harker was Chief of Oncology at the VA Hospital. He discusses a pattern of veterans from southern Utah being diagnosed with cancer. Harker mentions that Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia was one of the forms of cancer that he thought should have been included on the list of cancers that was eligible for compensation from Downwinders. Harker also discusses his background growing up in Shelley, Idaho, and his father's job working for the Atomic Energy Commission. |
