Show Mr. Edward E. McKean, Supt. Consolidated Ute Agency. My dear Mr. McKean: There is inclosed herewith a copy of an authority dated May 25, 1923, placing under your Jurisdiction the Indians' commonly known as the Polk and Posey Bands, which action was taken in view of the statements contained in your letter of April 4, 1923. As stated in this authority, steps will be taken to establish a day school for the Indian children belonging to the bands and to authorize any, other necessary positions.
