Description The branchiomeric paraganglia are typically associated with arterial vessels and cranial nerves of the ontogenetic gill arches and pouches and are believed to form a homologous group. They include: the glomus jugulare bodies, the orbital paraganglia, the carotid bodies, the subclavian paraganglia, the laryngeal paraganglia, the aorticopulmonary paraganglia, the coronary paraganglia, and the pulmonary paraganglia.
