Title |
Selective assay of intestinal alkaline phosphatase: preliminary evidence for abnormality in experimental canine diabetes |
Date |
1991-06 |
Year graduated |
1991 |
Description |
This study was undertaken to determine whether or not the increase in the total serum AP seen in the diabetic canine is due to an increase in the intestinal component. Levamisole inhibition and heat treatment were used to determine the quantity of intestinal AP in plasma. These methods were chosen as they are capable of providing a definitive answer, yet less time is required to develop their methodology as compared with the other techniques for isoenzyme differentiation discussed above. The results from the two different methods will be compared with one another to verify the results. |
