Description |
Big cottenwood tree, east of Green River near Ouray, Utah, used in the old days for Indian ceremonials. Donor & Photog: Charles Kelly. 1934. Kit Carson and his trappers wintered near this big tree in 1823. Also, Antoine Rubidoux built an adobe fort within site of the tree in 1836. |
