Description Examination of the visual field is one of the fundamental portions of the afferent system evaluation.A variety of visual field test procedures can be employed, including confrontation fields, the Amsler grid, the tangent (Bjerrum) screen, manual kinetic testing using a Goldmann perimeter, and automated static perimetry. When evaluating a patient with an afferent system deficit, it is important to keep in mind the advantages and disadvantages of the various procedures.
