Description |
Disk edema may exacerbate axonal damage in acute optic neuropathy. Bevacizumab (Avastin) inhibits the signaling of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF), thereby potentially reducing the vasogenic edema of the disk. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of an intravitreal injection of bevazicumab on optic nerve edema and RGC loss in a mouse model of optic nerve crush (ONC). |
