Earl Douglass, early paleontologist, spent fifteen years in the Jensen area digging and exploring for dinosaur fossils. It was his work that developed into the Dinosaur National Monument. The graves of his father Fernando and sister Nettie Douglass are located within the Dinosaur Monument in a small cemetery near the parking area of the visitors center north of Jensen. Fernando and Nettie came to live with Earl Douglass in 1914. Mrs. Fernando Douglass, Abigail Douglass, died in 1896 and is buried in Medford, Minnesota. |
