Description Brown's superior oblique (S.O.) tendon sheath syndrome was first described as a congenital syndrome involving restricted excursion of the S.O. tendon. The clinical findings of limited duction on both passive and voluntary rotation can also be acquired in patients with adult and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, sinusitis, and following sinus surgery or orbital trauma.
