Description History: A 10-year-old boy with neurofibromatosis with a progressively enlarging mass in the superior right upper lid causing ptosis and proptosis. Anatomy: Orbit; Eyelid. Disease Diagnosis: Neurofibromatosis; Neurofibromas, Plexiform. Neuroimaging: MRI scan showing lesions in the medial and lateral portion of the superior right orbit. MRI showing the two lesions in the superior right orbit on coronal view. Post-operative coronal MRI scan showing essential eradication of the right superior orbital plexiform neurofibroma. Pathology: Right superior cranio-orbitotomy with whitish, worm-like lesions (inferior central on the photo) which are plexiform neurofibromas. Presenting Symptom: A progressively enlarging mass in the superior right upper lid causing ptosis and proptosis. Treatment: Vaporization of neurofibroma by carbon dioxide laser.
