Black and white exterior photograph of Harry Goulding crouching down to hand boxes of Vanilla Wafers to three Navajo children. In 1921, Harry Goulding and his young bride Leone (nicknamed Mike) purchased 640 acres next to Monument Valley. The Gouldings completed construction of a trading post in 1928. They lived in an apartment on the second floor. The Gouldings traded with the Navajo starting in 1921, and operated out of a tent prior to the construction of the stone building |
