Description |
Giant cell arteritis (GCA) is a granulomatous vasculitis that normally involves medium- and large-sized arteries. The gold standard for diagnosis of GCA remains temporal artery biopsy (TAB), although TAB may be negative in 20-40% of patients [1]. In cases of negative TAB but high clinical suspicion for GCA, studies have shown the diagnostic utility of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) [2]. |
