A study of Franz Kafka's Amerika

Franz Kafka, a novelist, lived and wrote in Prague during the first quarter of this century. Many of his works are concerned with man's helplessness against the forces of some invisible power. Though Kafka had never traveled to America himself, the hero Karl Rossman of one of his three fragmentary novels Amerika does travel to America and confronts such circumstances.
