Description |
Aerial view of Vernal and the airport runway. In 1920 the first airplane landed in Uintah County. September 29, 1929, the first trip from Vernal to Salt Lake City took seventy-nine minutes by airplane. The present Vernal airport was completed in June 1945 at a cost of $9,375 and had several improvements, including paving and lighting the two-mile-long runways, hangars, and other facilities. |
