Description Apache cradleboard made with a bent oval piece of wood with wood slats attached across oval wood. Shade is shaped using small slats that extend from side to side in an upside down U shape and secured with a metal rod that is stitched at intervals to small bent slats. Inside of shade, back and sides of cradleboard are covered with yellow cloth. Cloth is doubled at sides and yellow straps are sewn into cloth for tying baby in place. Yellow; ; string stitches along both sides to secure. Red rickrack extends along sides and over shade. A sewn doll with facial features rests in cradle. Her hair is black yarn. Beaded necklaces, bracelets and mocassins adorn doll. Doll has a red blouse and skirt, patterned petticoat and leather mocassins.. Height 30, Width 13, Length 86.5 Centimeters
