Description Giant cell arteritis (GCA) is a systemic autoimmune disease that can cause permanent blindness. The development of aortic aneurysm has been reported in patients with biopsy-proven GCA. Recent literature has suggested long-term follow-up with MRA or CTA to monitor for aortic structural damage. We present the first large-scale retrospective study to evaluate the risk of development of aortic aneurysm in patients with biopsy-proven GCA.
