Description |
The photograph was taken for the 1946-1947 edition of the Uintah High School yearbook. It is on page 5. The photo was taken inside Humphrey's Park. There is a river running through a canyon. Sage brush is visible along the top of the canyon. There are trees on the banks of the river. Humphrey's Park was situated in the bottom of Brush Creek Gorge. The gorge was framed by towering cliffs that opened into the little park. Wallace Calder had the lease on this area and, with others, built a boardwalk along the edge of the cliffs to access the park. He built a foot bridge over Brush Creek and put picnic tables and a bench in the park. This area is on private property, owned by Simplot. SEE PHOTO 3293T |
