Description Kathy Hurst talks about her six-year board service on the Utah Humanities Council, from 2010 to 2016, including as chair. She was an English teacher at San Juan High School in Blanding, Utah, and later worked to develop Navajo language and culture curriculum for the San Juan School District. She talks about her memories with Utah Humanities, including fond memories of the Book Festival and board retreats. She discusses how much she personally learned and how her world expanded while serving on the board. Kathy talks about how, in her view, Utah Humanities is a vital part in hearing unheard voice in Utah.
