Description Skookum female doll with two babies, all wrapped in wool with a pattern in yellow, red, orange and dark blue. Painted wooden feet protrude from the wrap and under the wrap is a red floral cotton skirt. The faces are painted on plastic heads and the hair is black yarn. One baby has a leather headband.; ; ; Skookum dolls were created anad patented by Mary McAboy in 1914. She began with dried apple heads, but the heads were factory made from the 1920's -1960's using plastic. There are no arms, and the doll is wrapped in Indian style blankets. Face looks to the right. Skookum means "Bully Good" - a Siwash Indian word.. Height 27, Width 9 Centimeters
