Description Navajo split-back Western Yellow Pine (pinus ponderosa) cradle with handwoven red, black, white, yellow, and dark blue commercial yarn blanket. The wood frame is formed with two 31 1/2" x 5 1/2 " (tapering to 4" at the bottom) slats, cut at the top to form a center V. Additional parts are a 3 1/2" high curved 3" wide wood canopy, 8" x 4" five sided footboard and a 3/4" x 8 1/2" back cross (strengthening) piece. These pieces are tied together with commercially tanned hide strips. The blanket; is decorated with crosses, as well as diamond, meander, and linear bands. It is laced and tied onto the frame with 1/4" wide hide strips.. Depth 38.1, Width 28.57, Length 79.37 Centimeters
