Broken Treaty at Battle Mountain [0:09:24]: A look at "Broken Treaty at Battle Mountain", an independent documentary narrated by Robert Redford about the Western Shoshone's legal battle to retain their Nevada land after the Treaty of Ruby Valley was signed in 1863. Carrie and Mary Dann [0:15:07]: Carrie Dann, a Western Shoshone woman featured in "Broken Treaty at Battle Mountain", and her sister Mary Dann talk about their ongoing efforts to fight trespassing charges and keep their ranch on Nevada land they believe is rightfully theirs according to the Treaty of Ruby Valley. At Odds [0:23:11]: The Utah State Prison needs more space. Rod Decker and Lynne Van Dam discuss possible ways to resolve the issue. Graffiti Mural Painting [0:27:11]: Artists Gyll Huff and Paul Fisher painted a graffiti mural on the wall of a Salt Lake City business establishment. Passersby give their opinions on the abstract mural. IWY Conference [0:29:30]: The EXTRA crew travels to Houston for the International Women's Year Conference, where heated issues include the Equal Rights Amendment and abortion. EXTRA interviews Utah women about their opposition to the ERA and frustration that the Mormon Church was listed as an extremist group to look out for. There is also a segment featuring the "pro-life, pro-family" rally against the ERA and abortion. Finally, Utahns and other women reflect upon their experience at the IWY Conference with bleak and positive opinions.
