Description |
Edwin Espinel talks about his six-year board service on the Utah Humanities Council, from 2010-2016. Espinel is a trained economist but decided to veer away from his banking career toward a more community-centered career, working with government health departments. He became involved with and passionate about family literacy programs through Even Start. These literacy programs were his first interaction/introduction to the Utah Humanities. He also speaks fondly about Utah Humanities Council's Mother Read Father Read program. During his tenure on the UH board, he served on the finance committee, as well as fulfilling other roles. He talks about the importance of having representation on the UH board that mirrors the diverse communities found within Utah, including building a more diverse board. |
