Description Steven (Steve) Peterson began his teaching career at Snow College. He is an English professor and humanities lover. He served on the Utah Humanities Council board from 1997-2004. The original Utah Humanities Council director, Delmont Oswald, passed away soon after Steve joined the board. As a result, he felt a lot of his time on the board was spent looking for a replacement for Mr. Oswald. He helped to spearhead the Book Festival. Peterson talks about the impact Utah Humanities has had on rural Utah, as well as himself; he values it greatly. He shares his concerns for the future of humanities in Utah and the world, hoping that there will always be organizations to help keep the humanities alive.
