Description Steven Olsen talks about his five-year board service on the Utah Humanities Council, from 2007-2012, including as chair. Olsen participated in the Utah Humanities' Road Scholars program, as a lecturer, before he ever joined the board of (UH). During his board time, he helped to refine the mission statement, goals, and model of UH, to help guide the board into more of a working-oriented board by forming board committees to work to build up the diverse Utah communities. He relates all of UH's purpose, challenges, successes, relevancy and impact to it being a liminal organization it the way that term is used in the social sciences and humanities.
