Jerry Anderson Oral History Interview

Jerry and Fawn Anderson were interviewed on March 30, 2024, at the Washington County Library as part of the Crossroads Project for Utah Humanities and Utah Public Radio. Jerry, born in 1935 in Las Vegas, Nevada, has lived in Silver Reef, Utah, for 46 years, valuing its peace, tranquility, and natural beauty. He and Fawn were instrumental in restoring the historic Wells Fargo building, which now serves as a gallery and museum attracting thousands of visitors annually. While they cherish the small-town community, beautiful landscape, and opportunities for outdoor activities, they note challenges such as increased development, loss of natural streams, and the need to travel for medical care. They anticipate continued growth in Silver Reef and Leeds, driven by people from across the country seeking similar amenities, though they believe water availability may eventually limit this expansion.
