News Conference

A press conference intended to update its members on cold fusion is held at a Los Angeles meeting of the Electrochemical Society of America. Present are Dr. Stanley Pons, Dr. Martin Fleischman, Electrochemical Society President Bruce Deal, Eldon (?), Lawrence Cairns and Dr. Steven Jones. A short history of electro-chemistry is given. Topics include the validity of the experiments (Nathan Lewis and Robert Huggins); aspects of energy output; confirmation, by John Appleby of Texas A & M, of "anomalous heat" and proposition of an alternative explanation; commercial aspects of fusion; confirmation and disputation by various researchers.
