Plan your place: Summit County, Utah community planning lab

The project is based on the idea that providing knowledge to and including community members in planning and decision-making empowers them to affect change in their communities. Planning often feels inaccessible due to complex jargon and lengthy processes, however, the idea of a planning academy demystifies the planning process and gives more power to people to have a say in their futures. With increased growth and change, the Summit County, UT planning department set out to create a planning academy program to equip community members with knowledge and skills to be more involved and take an active role in shaping the future of the county
