Further Information |
Mounted on sturdy matting. Some pieces around the edges of the picture are missing, and a corner has been cut off. Hogle Hall was built in 1959 and named in memoriam of the James A. Hogle family for their contributions to the college over the years. It was their generous contribution that made the science building possible in 1949. Walker Hall was built in conjunction with Hogle Hall and served as the cafeteria for both Carleson and Hogle Halls before the erection of the Student Union Building (now Manford A. Shaw Student Center). It is supposedly named after the Walker family, prominent bankers in the Salt Lake Valley. This information was supplied by Stephen R. Morgan, Executive Vice President and Treasurer of Westminster College, on November 21, 2003. For more information concerning the James A. Hogle family and Hogle Hall consult the following source: Brackenridge, R. Douglas. Westminster College of Salt Lake City. Logan, Utah: Utah State University Press, 1998, pp. |
