Description |
History: A 45-year-old woman presenting with mild proptosis of the right eye with pain and double vision on medial rotation of the right eye. Anatomy: Entire medial rectus; Orbit. Disease Diagnosis: Orbital myositis; Granuloma, Plasma Cell, Orbital. Neuroimaging: Axial CT scan with enlargement of the right medial rectus muscle including the tendon. Coronal view of the enlarged right medial rectus. Ocular Movements: Pain and double vision on adduction of the right eye. Presenting Symptom: Mild proptosis of the right eye with pain and double vision on medial rotation of the right eye. Treatment: Steroid therapy of 80 mg of prednisone per day for a week tapered over a six week period. Mild recurrences treated with ibuprofen 800 mg three times a day. |
