Show A professional studio photograph of the Reverend Josiah McClain who was appointed by the board of trustees to help secure acreage and financial backing for a permanent campus for Westminster College. This photograph is a head and torso shot of McClain who is posed his head slightly leaned and turned toward the camera while looking away from it. He wears a dark suit coat white collar shirt and long neck tie. McLain also wears a moustache and wire rimmed glasses with his hair combed to the side. |

The quality of this photograph is very good although the condition of it is poor. The actual photograph is free from any handwritten marks, but it shows distinct signs of age. The edges are curling up and it is wrinkling at the bottom due to possible water damage. The photograph is encased and attached in an olive colored overleaf flap cover with a long rectangular top flap and short triangular bottom flap that is intended to crevice inside the top flap when closed. The photograph is attached with its corners wedged in ready-made crevices within a cut patterned border frame. The condition of the overleaf cover is extremely poor. It shows what appears to be water stains and the top flap is almost ripped off entirely. Inside on the bottom border is written, "Rev. Josiah McClain." The insignia of the photography studio is located in the same area dead center. On the backside of the top flap is the emblem of the photography studio within the creviced circle.
