Abstract |
Christopher Johnson (b. 1960) was born in Kansas City, Kansas. His father was in the Air Force so he and his family moved around a lot when he was young. He went to high school and did his undergraduate in Dayton, Ohio. Christopher then earned his master´s in physics and a PhD in biophysics and computing from the University of Utah. Before working at the University of Utah, he was a professor of physics at Westminster for four years. He describes several positions he held at the University of Utah. Christopher talks about his time working at Sperry Corporation. He describes his involvement with the ACCESS program at the University of Utah.In his second interview, Christopher talks about his time as a research assistant professor, assistant professor, and then associate chairman of the department of computer sciences at the University of Utah. He describes research projects he was involved in. Christopher explains interactive scientific visualization. He talks about his time as director of the Center for Scientific Computing and Imaging. He also worked for the Department of Energy. He talks about his involvement with the University of Utah´s school of computing.
