Junior Anneli Stahl of the Utah track and field team captured first place in the weight throw with a school-record performance on the opening day of the Wildcat Indoor Open. The weight throw featured a school-record performance by Stahl. Stahl broke a 10-year school record with a throw of 61-2.75 to earn first place. Junior Cynthia Sanchez captured second place and recorded a new personal-best performance of 57-5.00. Finishing third overall with a season-best mark of 53-7.75 was Nikkie Rudder. In the shot put, the Utes swept the stage earning the top-three spots. Leading the way was Rudder who captured first place with a lifetime best performance of 48-1.25, which ranks third all-time in school history. Securing second place was Alanna Nulph with a personal-record throw of 47-5.00. Candus Aiello tied her personal best and rounded out the top three with a throw of 47-1.75, respectively for the Utes. On the final day of action at the Wildcat Indoor Open, the University of Utah women's track and field team added three more event titles bringing the total to five throughout the weekend. Leading off the day on Saturday was Klaudia Rokossa on the pole vault. Rokossa cleared the mark of 12-5.50 to win her second meet of the year and set the tone for the day. Angela Kaplar and Brianna LeRoy captured first and second places in the 55m hurdles. Kaplar clocked a first-place time of 8.01 seconds, while LeRoy finished in 8.34 seconds. LeRoy also earned first place in the high jump, clearing the height of 5-7.75. Leading the way for the Utes in the 400m race was senior Elise McVicar. Crossing the line in a time of 59.45, McVicar finished first for the Utes and fourth overall. Sophomore Kayla McMurray finished second for the Utes and seventh overall with a time of 1:03.03.
