Description The completion of the internal market will be discussed in this paper. This paper is divided into five sections, with the first section being the introduction. The second section deals with the reasons behind integration and the macro- and microeconomic effects this integration will have. The third section concerns the effects of the integration process upon the banking sector in the EC. The first part of the third section will deal with the heart of banking deregulation, the Second Banking Directive. The second part deals with financial liberalization. The fourth section contains the quantitative effects that the completion of the internal market will have on specific financial products in specific countries. The final section is the conclusion.
