Description |
16878 P-557-420-8465 Glen Canyon Unit, Colorado River Storage Project, Arizona-Utah. GLEN CANYON AREA & COLORADO RIVER (Historical). Bert Loper's Cabin, located near the mouth of Red Canyon at Mile 149.7, L.B. Loper lived here as a hermit from 1907 to 1915. He placer mined an area nearby and made frequent boat trips down the river. On a river trip in 1949, when he was about 80, Loper died of a heart attack in Marble Canyon. 5/25/63.
