Black and white photograph of a hydraulically-driven all-terrain vehicle designed by James M. Bird for navigating difficult terrain in a mine. It has independent suspension for each of six wheels. The vehicle was eleven feet long and eight feet wide, and weighed 7,000 pounds. The photos were sent with a letter by James M. Bird of Tulsa, OK, dated March 6, 1970, to Mr. C. H. Likins of Calumet Mining & Refining Company in Salt Lake City, Utah. |
