Description |
Rhinocerebral mucormycosis is a rare mycotic opportunistic infection with high mortality that mainly occurs in diabetic patients. It involves the paranasal sinuses and can extend into the orbits and brain. However, perineural spread of fungus is an unusual presentation. We report a case of optic perineuritis due to mucormycosis in a patient with initial suspicion of giant cell arteritis (GCA). |
