Seniors Jeff Simonich and Amy Tidwell each had NCAA provisional qualifying times in their respective events. Simonich placed fourth in the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:49.01. The provisional cut off mark was 3:49.25. Senior Amy Tidwell placed second in the long jump shattering the school record by almost a foot. Her jump of 20'.07.75" places her ninth in the nation. Other top performances from Utah include: Eric Vernon's first place finish in the 3,000 meter steeple chase (9:22.80), Dane Miller's first place finish in the 5,000 meters (15:10.09), Elisha Kekacs third place finish in the 100 meter hurdles (14.713), Chantel Goldsberry's fourth place finish in the hammer throw (168'05.25) and Mindy Romig's third place finish in the Javelin (141'01.75"). |
