Description |
Fungi of the genus Fusarium have a worldwide distribution in soil. These fungi appear as septate hyphae with rare branching, and they thus may be confused with Aspergillus. A definitive diagnosis can be made only by culture, although it may be suspected by the presence of typical banana-shaped, multiseptate macroconidia in tissue sections or fluid samples. |
