Text of the eighth annual Frederick William Reynolds lecture, delivered on January 19, 1944, by Leland Hargrave Creer, a professor and head of the University of Utah's Department of History and Political Science. Creer discussed nationalism as a root cause to "the present world crisis" of World War II, exploring its historical evolution and its key characteristics and manifestation before analyzing some factors Creer believed would be "essential for the winning of a just and durable peace." Chief of these were collective security and democracy. |
