Description "Non-arteritic ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION) is the most common acute optic neuropathy in those older than 50.1-2 and young onset NAION has been reported in 4-23% of patients.1-4 Aging is a risk factor for NAION, and the normal rate of retinal ganglion cell axonal loss triples after 50.5 The aim of our study is to investigate the age of onset of NAION and correlation with risk factors."
