After the first day, Susannah Hurst finished first in the 3000m race, while Klaudia Rokossa won the pole vault. In her first collegiate race, Hurst controlled the 3000m event from start to finish. Hurst posted a time of 9:59.51 to finish first place. AuraLea Fain was the second Ute to cross the line and sixth overall with a time of 10:34.23. Katelyn Stringfellow earned ninth place with a time of 10:50.58. Rokossa dominated the pole vault posting a mark of 12-7.50. Rokossa's performance was two inches shy of her lifetime-best jump. Senior Brianna LeRoy finished third place in the pentathlon with 3,654 points. Suzie Vozarova set a personal-record with 2,910 points earning fourth place. Anneli Stahl led the way for the Utes in the weight throw. Stahl finished fourth with a mark of 56-11.25. Performing in her hometown, Nikkie Rudder finished sixth with a throw of 53-4.25. The Utes finish the Boise State Open with a combined five event titles. In her first collegiate race, Andrea Chavez clocked the second best one-mile time in school history with 4:52.55. Chavez earned second place and set a personal-best by over 23 seconds. In the 800m race, the Utes earned the top-three spots. Senior Lucy Yates finished first place with a time of 2:10.82. Freshman Ali Eisenbeiss clocked a second-place time of 2:12.04. Rosalie Griffin competed in the 800m event for the first time in her career. Griffin finished third overall with a time of 2:12.06. After the third leg of the 4x400m relay, the Utes were in second place. Yates ran the final leg of the race and passed Cal State Northridge's Shane Mullany-Banks to secure first-place for the Utes with a time of 3:46.76. The group's time is the top season opening performance in school history and ranks in the all-time top-10 best times. Coming off a third-place performance in the pentathlon on Friday, Senior Brianna LeRoy won the high jump with a mark of 5-6.00. The Utes finished with four of the top-six spots of the shot put. Alanna Nulph led the way with a second-place throw of 46-7.50. Destanae Howerton-Davis finished third with a mark of 45-11.25, while Candus Aiello earned the fourth spot recording a throw of 45-8.00. Idaho native, Nikkie Rudder secured sixth place with a mark of 44-8.00. |
