Description |
The past few years have witnessed major advancements in our ability to diagnose multiple sclerosis (MS) and to begin treatments which can favorably modify the course of the disease. Conventional MRI has had an enormous impact on MS by providing the most sensitive paraclinical tool to support the diagnosis and by enabling an early diagnosis. Despite these advantages, conventional MRI metrics, including T2 and Tl lesion loads and Tl enhancement are limited by lack of pathological specificity and by the inability to detect the 'occult' damage in normal appearing white and gray matter (NAWM, NAGM). |
