It is probably difficult for the non-Mormon to immediately appreciate the Mormon social experience. That they have often been called the "peculiar people" and take pride even now in calling themselves this on occasion gives only a small suggestion of the ostracism that in the past usually met their efforts to coexist with those not of their group. |
